Applications for the UNU-EHS Masters Scholarships are now being accepted from eligible candidates. It is a fully financed scholarship provided by the United Nations University for all students (UNU).

About the Scholarship

The United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research endeavors to advance sustainable and equitable development through economic research and policy recommendations. 

As the first research institution established by the United Nations University, the Institute has been operating for over 30 years in Helsinki, Finland.

The joint M.Sc. program provided by the Institute enables postgraduate students to acquire a profound understanding of environmental threats and human security by fostering critical thinking skills, interdisciplinary approaches, and access to relevant resources.

Moreover, it is worth noting that the Institute's M.Sc. program, along with the University of Bonn's Faculty of Agriculture's ARTS study program and the ZEF Doctoral Studies program, has been approved for DAAD financing, making it the third study program in Bonn to receive this approval.

The selected candidates will receive funding that will cover all the expenses associated with the study program, as well as their cost of living in Bonn.

Requirements for UNU-EHS Master Scholarships

1.    Candidates should be from a "Developing Country" as classified by the DAAD.

2.   A minimum of two years of practical work experience in a relevant field (e.g., NGO, GO, or private sector) is required.

3.  Candidates must have completed their Bachelor's degree no more than five years ago.

4.  Candidates should not have completed any other Master's degree in a related field of study.

5.   Candidates must aspire to pursue a career as a practitioner in a field related to the program of study.
