About The UCL Global Masters Scholarship

The Global Masters Scholarship at University College London (UCL) aims to empower and support international students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. 

This scholarship provides an opportunity for eligible students to pursue full-time Master's degree programs at UCL. The selection process is based on a recommendation from the Student Funding Office, with a focus on financial need. 

If you meet the criteria, this scholarship can be a valuable resource to fulfill your academic aspirations at UCL.

Purpose and Advantages of the UCL Masters Scholarship

1.       For the academic year 2023/24, the UCL Global Masters Scholarship program will provide a total of 70 scholarships to deserving candidates. Each scholarship carries a value of £15,000.

2.      Normally, the duration of the scholarship is one year, except for full-time programs spanning two years, where the scholarship amount will be evenly distributed over both years.

3.      The UCL Global Masters Scholarship can go alongside with other scholarships, awards, bursaries or studentships. However, the UCL award may be adjusted based on the total value of additional funding received by the student.

4.      It is essential for scholarship recipients to promptly inform the UCL Student Funding Office about any other financial assistance they receive for their Master's degree studies at UCL, whether obtained before or after receiving the UCL Global Masters Scholarship.

5.       The scholarship funds will first be applied towards the recipient's tuition fees. Any remaining balance will be disbursed to the recipient in three equal installments throughout the academic year to assist with their maintenance expenses.

Requirements for UCL Masters Scholarship

Applicants for the UCL Global Masters Scholarship must meet the following requirements:

- Be liable to pay the Overseas fee rate.

- Come from a lower income background.

- Have submitted an application for admission to a full-time Master's degree program at UCL for the academic year 2023/24.

- Note that distance-learning options are not eligible for this scholarship; students must be physically present at UCL in the UK.
